In Sweden, a ready militia is provided by requiring each group of four farms to provide and support one soldier. The Soldattorp was the land allocated for the support of that soldier (and his family, if any), and the farms also provided his uniform and other necessities.

In 1871, when he turned 21, Per August Blomquist took up the position of soldier at #6 Soldattorp in Stora Malm (later renamed Katrinsholm).

In 1875, Hedda Lotta Jansdotter and her two illegitimate daughters, Ida Charlota and Hilma Lovisa, moved to #6 when she married Per August. Six months later Hulda Cecilia was born. Two years after that Emma Elisabeth was born, and two more years later August Ehrenfrid entered the family.

In 1882, twin boys arrived, but one was stillborn and the other only lived a few days. In 1883 another set of twins arrived, and these survived. Then in 1884, Per August died.

Unfortunately, with the death of Per August, the Soldattorp had to pass to the use of a new soldier, and Hedda and her children were left to fend for themselves. Oldest daughter Ida Charlotta moved out to page 456, and the rest of the family moved to page 469.

Page 469 is a place called Frakenstugorna in Stora Malm.

During 1886-1895, Hedda Blomquist remained in Frakenstugorna, but her children moved on leaving only Carl Oskar. In 1888, Hilma Lovisa moved to Karstorp. In 1890 Hulda Cecilia moved to Elgsjostugar(?), and baby Erika went to Masa(?).

In 1891, Emma Elisabeth moved to Bjorkvik. Then, in 1895, August Ehrenfrid went to Brannkass(?).

For 1896-1903, Hedda Blomquist remains in Frakenstugorna, but Carl Oskar leaves in 1897.

Then, in 1903, Hedda moves into the poorhouse of Stora Malm (Fattighus), and I stop following her after 1912.

Emma Elisabeth After Leaving Home

In 1891, Emma moved to a place called Brudhallen in Bjorkvik parrish of Sodermanland. (I have not yet located that page of data.) In 1892 she settled in Grofva, Bjorkvik parish.

She remained in Grofva until 1896, when she moved to another (as yet unidentified) place in Bjorkvik. She left Bjorkvik November 08, 1897 to return to Stora Malm. Note that August Ehrenfrid also passed thru this place 1897-99.

Emma remained in Nastorp, Stora Malm until 1898, when it appears she left for Amerika. (Note that Erika Eleonora also passed thru Nastorp in 1898-99.)
