The following record MAY refer to our Virgil (Bert) Briggs.
The place and date of birth is a good match.
No parents are given and this Briggs died in a hospital for "poor and indigent" patients.
There is census evidence that this Briggs was in such facilities in 1920, 1940, and 1950 census.
His wife is listed in 1930 census and in the Albany directory of 1932 as a widow.
Shortly thereafter she remarries.
I have yet to find an earlier, more appropriate death record for her husband.
I cannot find wife in 1920 census and children are living with their grandfather (Arthur Jacobia).
In 1925 she is back with her children and her father.
I think all this could be explained by Bert having been committed between 1915 census and 1920 census.
However, I cannot explain the relocation to Pennsylvania.
