Miltern was a village in the Altmark region of Germany - west of the Elbe River.
The village was near the town of Tangermunde, and has recently been absorbed by the larger town.
After the defeat of Napolean, this region was separated from Brandenberg and became a part
of the Prussian Province of Saxony.
After WWII, this province was combined with Anhalt to form the German state of Saxony-Anhalt.
