His naturalization says he arrived in Baltimore in May of 1871 (he would have been 9 years old). I cannot find the immigration record.

Family tradition has him born in "Prague". I am searching all birth records for greater Prague for a 1861SEP08 birth. (65 pages of possible books to eaxmine.)

His obituary says he was survived by a brother and two sisters. My mother and her brothers recall never having met or heard of any family of Ignatz. There are about six other Pavlats in the 1880 census. I have checked each out and found no good candidates. I have offered free DNA tests to several "Kewaunee Pavlats" in an effort to rule them out.
