Back in early days there was considerable confusion regarding the events surrounding the
death of Francesca, Antonio's return to Italy, his second marriage, and the birth of Michael.
I could find no death record for Francesca in Connecticut and no birth for Michael.
It also was not clear how the two babies were handled in the interim.
I asked Janet if she had any info and subsequently published this e-mail segment:
It is now 2026 and I am going thru old documents and realize that there was a follow-on to the above
e-mail exchange. I will transcribe the salient points:
I remembered that neither Antonio's or Francesca's family would take the girls (so my mother told me).
They were very grateful that Grandma's mother took them in. I think Aunt Agnes told me Francesca and
Grandma knew each other and were friends.
[Janet's mother was one of the girls, and "Grandma" here refers to Pasqualina DiRenzo, Tony's second wife.]
