I cannot find this census entry. I have tried my most clever searches without success. I give up and declare "no census entry" for this person. A small reward for the first to prove me wrong.

I have also searched without success for any subsequent mention of this person in my on-line resources. I have searched using all the aliases known to me. It seems most likely that this person has either died or changed names prior to this census. I will report no additional census data until a death is found or a name change discovered.

This is a bit strange. I find records for two children born after 1880, but no record in 1880 census. This could reflect a move from Gloucester County to Atlantic County.

In 1900, 1910, and 1920, wife Lydia Atkinson was living without Giles - as a houskeeper in 1900 and with two of her children in 1910 and 1920. Then in 1929 Lydia dies in California and in 1930 Giles is in the census. That is the last data I find on Giles - no deathg record yet. There is a paupers grave in NJ, but no way to lin to it.

I suspect Giles died soon after 1930. His son Giles Sheppard is in California during this time - that may be the reason for the move west and possibly for a re-union.
