TRUSZ, Stanley J.

Stanley J. Trusz died Monday, (December 6, 1999) at Middlesex Hospital, 
after a long battle with cancer. He was one of 11 children born to the 
late Andrew and Catherine (Ungehajer) Trusz, formerly of Brooklyn, NY. 
He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1943 to 1946, as a 
Gunner's Mate aboard the Amphibious Transport Leonard Wood. He 
participated in the invasion of Europe as well as eight Amphibious 
Landings in the Pacific Theatre of War. Mr. Trusz was employed by Litton 
Industries in New York City and Paramus, NJ, Royal Typewriter in 
Hartford and Wang Laboratories in Lowell, MA, prior to his retirement in 
1986. Survivors include his beloved wife Irma of 48 years; four sons and 
their spouses, Michael and Sondra of Litchfield, Richard and Jean of 
Glastonbury, Andrew and Deb of Colchester and Peter and Jessica of 
Colchester; two daughters and their spouses, Nancy and Terry of 
Randolph, MA, and Geralyn and Gerry of Austin, TX; and five 
grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Anna Krahel of Ellicot, 
MD, and Teresa and her husband, Ed Nadolny of Newman, GA; a brother, 
Michael and his wife, Anna Mae Trusz of Stratsburg, NY; along with many 
nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on 
Friday, at 10 a.m. at St. Andrew Church in Colchester. Burial will 
follow at the State Veteran's Cemetery in Middletown. Calling hours will 
be held on Thursday, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Aurora-McCarthy 
Funeral Home, 167 Old Hartford Road, Colchester. Donations in his memory
